This is a pub which serves food and in the summer it is worth booking a table as it can get busy when Craobh harbour is full. During winter they open evening only Mon-Fri from 5:30, weekends are 11am Sat, 12:30 Sun all day although it is worth a call to check during winter.
Loch Melfort Hotel Arduaine, PA34 4XG 01852 500648
This local hotel which is a short walk from the cottage offers casual dining in their Bistro and fine dining in their Restaurant. Both are of a good standard and it is advisable to book in the summer months. Also situated next to the hotel is Arduaine Gardens which is part of the National Trust and offers spectacular views. The hotel is shut for a period in early January each year.

The Mid Argyll Show is held on the second Saturday in August each year near Lochgilphead and if it coincides with your visit is a great attraction.

The post office and general store provide essentials, or drop into the Quaich Café for some home baking or snacks for a picnic. The seafood selection here is great although it is slightly more expensive than others in the area. You can see boats leaving the Crinan canal beside the hotel.

A well situated hotel for a meal before or after a walk along the canal, lunch and dinner are served in either the bistro or restaurant. This is situated very close to the road from the cottage towards Lochgilphead.

Excellent locally sourced food served for lunch and dinner - the menu is short and changes almost daily to reflect the seasons. This restaurant was voted Scottish Restaurant of the Year in 2009, it is south of Lochgilphead and worth a visit.

We have not personally done any fishing locally but have had guests to stay whose entire week was spent fishing! This local shop will give advice, local information and provide frozen and live bait in store.
Also willing to give out local advice are the Oban and Lorn Angling Club on 01631 710649 with a lot of local information on their website.
